Good afternoon there is so much Red Valerian everywhere on my walks in the banks, walls etc,not on anyone's property so to speak growing wild, would it be legal to extract some to plant in my wild life garden,I know it can be invasive but i can control it;)

I don't know if it's legal or not but it grows like wild fire. I had it growing in pots and still couldn't control it! I do like it though but you'll have to be firm with it Woo!

I shall treat the Red Valerian just as I treat Mrs Woo:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

            Hi Woo,

You mean you'll just leave it alone and let it get on with it's own thing

We call it Ventnor Pride on the Isle of Wight because of how proliferous it is particularly in Ventnor, it seems to love old stone brickwork and cliffs and especially along train lines and tracks

Good morning @Anthony Rogers you mean it will look to all intents and purposes that I am leaving it alone and letting it go its own way(but only seem that way):lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Oh dear I only dug up a few roots and a Southern Rail employee said I had to put them back,I said if I do that they wouldn't survive anyway, but he was adamant they were on the bottom of the railway bank and therefore they were the property of Southern Rail ,(Jobsworth) :heehee:are well it takes all kinds ,so I shall have to look somewhere else;)
