My Phantom passed away yesterday. Out of the clear blue, no warning, no issues prior noted. He had just be running around that morning, came in ate normally well. We found him just laying there on the deck. He was born Late August 2004. We are thinking maybe a heart attack. 100_234.JPG

we are still stunned, its hard to believe, I won't see him roaming in the woods, coming home with his slow walk. easy to see as his white showed up well. he loved to climb trees, and run a muck.

I am really sorry to hear this @redstar. Most on here know how much I loved my two, which have now sadly departed .
Due to health reasons, I can not have anymore, but I would find it difficult to 'replace' (wrong word) them anyway.
It must be awful to have it happen 'out of the blue'. I got lots of support on here, and I am sure you will too :grphg:.

thanks @NorthantsGeezer , still hard to imagine not seeing him follow me out in the gardens. He leaves behind his brother Teddy and his mother "MoM"s, his uncle Panther (shown in pic were always together) and his aunt Susi. Twitches above, (they just tolerated each other). But he is in the garden area now, near the creek he liked to roam in. Miss that big boy, his paws were the width of my three fingers. And a quiet gentle soul. catshade.JPG

So sorry to read the sad news of Phantoms parting, @redstar :grphg:
I know how stunned you must feel when it happens so suddenly and I'm sure you will feel comforted in knowing he wasn't suffering for any length of time. Sounds like you have chosen a beautiful spot for him to rest.
Savour those precious memories he has bequeathed you :doggieshmooze:

I was sad to hear of your loss. :cry3:

We had a cat that went through all sorts of operations and procedures (all encouraged by the vet) that did not improve the poor little poohs life. We finally asked that he be put to sleep and though still very upsetting, it was far better than watching him suffer any more.

I was so relieved to read that your little friend most likely passed quietly and swiftly.:grphg:

thanks all. yes, it was quick and swift. that morning , he was running in the gardens, and scampering about in his usual self. He was born on this property, and now remains. We both miss him.
