    Hello chums :)
I have a smallish border that I think needs some TLC regarding the soil. My instinct tells me to just whack a load of 'muck' in it. The border is just for some general plants (a few shrubs, annuals, that kinda thing). Any thoughts?
    Cheers...Freddy

I presume the border already has plants in it Freddy? You're right with your instinct, manure, compost is the way to go I think. :)

      Hiya Sheal
Yes, it does. TBH, there's a few plants I might get rid of, as there are some I'm not that keen on, which will give me the opportunity to plant something more to my taste. I have put some new plants in, but they are mostly dormant right now, so should be ok if I temporarily dig them up, which will makes things easier.

It's a new garden to you and no matter how good it may look you need to make it your own.....new plants are the way. Anything in mind yet?

Not yet Sheal. I can grow veg, but I don't have a lot of 'vision', so no outright theme as such. As I see it, it's a border that needs sorting. I'd like a border that has season long interest (not necessarily winter though). I have a couple of small Roses (obviously:)) and a few other plants I forget the name of right now. Some Rudbeckias would be nice. I need to be quite selective, as the border isn't that big, imagine 10ft x 10 ft (ish) on two sides joined by an arc.

We'll have to wait and see what you come up with. Of course, we'd like to see some pictures later in the season please. :)
