'remembering' log ins

How can I get my laptop to 'remember me' for logging into forums, shops and stuff? Usually I just double click on the user name, choose the appropriate one from the list and my password loads automatically.

I have all the little boxes checked but so far, GC is the only one that works and I have to put all the others in manually. Is there something else I should do?

 

Hi MD, I have this for GC but for security reasons I shy away from this facility for other applications, sites etc. If your PC gets pinched so do your log ins. Where I have done it, it is usually via a prompt to tick a box etc.

A very mute point, BM! And one worth taking into account!

But can you be more specific about your "prompt to tick abox"? I have the 'remember me' boxes ticked but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

 

Hi MD, yes usually just click the 'remember me' boxes but some seem to have better memories than others. Sometimes if you use the same user name and different passwords for different forums applications etc the 'remember me'can get confused.I also clear my cookies daily so it may well be that the information is lost when I do this ?
