Remove side shoots regulary...

    You'll have to excuse my ignorance here. Im growing tomato moneymakers, on the back of the packet it says 'Remove side shoots regularly'.
    I've never grown anything before so to me the plant looks great, i just don't know what it means, if I remove all the side shoots wont the plant be left with just the stem??? Surely I cant remove all the side shoots!! Again sorry if I'm being a complete idiot but any help appreciated.
