This won't help then... I've only tried this once years ago and I gave up and tiled back over! Floor glue can be a real pain to shift but fingers crossed whatever you use is more effective than what was available to me at the time

If you have some, first try Turps or Meths to see if they work.

Usually find leaving them on for a couple of minutes helps soften things so you can easily rub or scrap the residue off.

A heat gun will help get the worst off, but don't get the tiles to hot as they may go bang
just warm to make glue plyable and scrap off

          Would a steamer work? :dunno:
I recall being told artex was a booger to get off ceilings. Many years ago I was using a steamer to remove wallpaper (first ever attempt at DIY) and when I was steaming the top of the paper ... the artex began to bubble and come off. I hadn't intended removing the artex! Couldn't leave it patchy, so I removed the rest of it using a steamer with a 'plate' attachment.
Just thinking out loud, no experience of carpet tile glue.

Good luck woo - if there is a way, I know you will find it. :blue thumb:

In such a situation, I would use acetone. Of course, in a well ventilated area, using gloves and some kind of face mask to filter out the fumes.

Be prepared for the need to re-grout afterwards.
