I'm looking to remove a large section of uneven, scruffy lawn to level it off and reseed/turf.
Do I dig it up and turn it over or hire a turf cutter?
A problem that I have with it at the moment is that underneath, there seems to be a lot of glass and stones.

    Thanks.

I would spray off with glyphosate, leave it to die down then dig by hand or rotavate depending on the size.

      Got any pictures?

Really best to try and remove the glass and stones after removing the sod with a cutter.
