Renewed Fencing

My new fencing panels look great the garden looks so much nicer now, the guys who renewed the panels said that they were treated with paint at the factory,they look a bit pale to me I wonder when I should treat them.

 

Where they dipped or pressure treated?
the later is better as it forces the preserve inside the wood,the former can wash off over time.
At the time of purchase where you not given choice of colour?
The colour range is wide,also there are at least 2 types of preserve used,water based and spirit based.Most DIY outlets will only sell waterbased.
