    Morning all,

I 'acquired' some seeds a few months ago on a trip to Heligan, nearby was a sign that said Rengarenga Lily. They've all germinated and are just getting their second leaves. However, I'm unsure as to whether they are rengas or no??? A spot of googling has thrown up that rengas (apparently) look like onion seedlings when small. Never having grown onions I wouldn't know what they look like [IMG] Can anyone help?????

Oh now I'm really confused??? [IMG] [IMG] I'd googled it as Anthropodium cirratum!mmmmmmmmm [IMG] Maybe there's 2 renga rengas out there???? Or maybe I've spent weeks cultivating a very pretty weed and not anything interesting at all! [IMG]
I suppose all will be revealed when they've grown!!
Tune in next Summer for the next thrilling instalment of Windy's Renga lily!!!! :D

I don't know what renga-renga you have, or how many there are!! I just typed in renga renga seedlings and it took me to that hedychium - they're gingers, aren't they?

And what's wrong with very pretty weeds? (e.g. the notorious Himalayan Balsam.....) If it's from Heligan, it's likely to be worth having, surely!

Loads of renga renga piccys on the web - Arthropodium cirrhatum, one of two New Zealand rock lilies - both also taking the name of chocolate lily for their scent. The genus's main locale is Madagascar apparently. Hope this is more useful Windy. Humph..they DO look like grass seedlings (!) as do pretty much all monocots. :D

mmmmmmm!!!Wish I could remember what the flaming plant looked like that I got the seeds from  I was trying to subtly take them, but every time someone walked by, my youngest would shout at the top of her lungs "Mummy, this ones got seeds"!!!! So I had allsorts all jumbled up in my pocket! :D These ones were black seeds, the orange ones are tall, thin and grass-like.The purple ones ( like the blueberry) haven't done a damn thing
'Gardening by seed colour'by Windy Miller will be out in paperback next Autumn :D :D
