    Hi there Colin:thumb:

A mate of ours has just begun to repair his hedge which had sections ripped out in the floods last year. He has planted Hawthorn and will 'lay' them in as they grow. He dug over the soil and laid in plenty of well rotted cow manure.....it sells for a pound a bag around here:D. In the mean time he has put hurdles up to keep his flock safe.
What plants does your hedge consist of?

    Heck ,conifers!....
Have to say ,not my most favourite choice. We had one once but I cut all of the growth from them and still in situ used the trunks as posts to support wires which in turn supported climbers...Roses,Clem's,Honeysuckles.....
Mrs Pal called it 'Tenko' until the plants filled it up:D

No fmay.....tell a lie:rolleyes:...there was new growth on a few the next spring but not for the last two years now. It's a great screen and very pretty in the summer while allowing the breeze through to cool my plot.
