    Hi All,

have a pear tree in the garden, and for the last 3 years has been troubled with leaf curl. Nothing I have tried has cured the problem. As normal, this years abundant blossom gave way to fruit forming, but once again are falling off. Its time to go. I have just purchased a couple of Magnolia's and was hoping someone could tell me if it is ok to plant one where the pear tree was? Will there be anything in the soil which could cause problems?

    Thanx,

    Doug.
