I am redoing my borders, both the top raised one and the north facing one but I can't for the life of me decide which order to put the plants in so I keep changing my mind

The top border is west facing and is sunnier on the left than the right where it joins the north facing border. Currently there is a pergola over that part but it's coming down before I do the planting. The part on the left is where I need more privacy as it's where the Clampetts neighbour's windows overlook my garden. It's raised which means it's pretty free draining but does need watering more frequently.

These are the plants I've got to play with, in the order I'm currently thinking of planting them in (left to right):

Hazel - this was a contorted hazel but I've allowed it to grow so that it offers more privacy and this one is staying where it is.

Buddleia Pink Delight - I want to train this into a multi stemmed tree shape so that it retains its height and I get more privacy.

Acer Palmatum - unnamed variety recently bought as a 'second' and which is approx 6 ft high on spindly stalks. If I leave this in the shape it's in it will offer more height than width (which is what I want).

Mahonia Aquifolium - dunno what size yet as I only ordered a couple yesterday, but in 2L or 3L container.

Viburnum Tinus - not really fussed on this plant so it's just a gap filler and is doing okay in that position already.

In the north facing border (which is clay so need to make sure I dig in lots of compost/grit), I have the following to play with (again in the order I currently have in mind, furthest from house to nearest):

Elaeagnus x ebbingei - again, don't like this much but it's a gap filler and I want to utilise the plants I've already got. By putting it at the top end it's out of sight.

Elaeagnus pungens Maculata - this is currently in the top border in shade and is doing okay. Will brighten up the side border as it's variegated.

    Acer Palmatum Atropurpureum

    Lilac Rhododendron (unnamed variety)

    Skimmia Japonica Rubella

    Mahonia Aquifolium

    Sarcococca Confusa

Any ideas welcome as to what to put where! :help:

I do have a Viburnum Tinus 'Eve Price' to play with as well if I wanted to squeeze another in plus I'm planning to plant some Dwarf Rhodos in front of the above in the north facing border. These will moved from the front garden as they are getting to much sun, so will replace them with some mini roses I've got.
