Repotted Oucho into Spent Mushroom Compost

      Mushroom compost , I here it mentioned a few times on here . Two questions what is a main use/advantage of mushroom compost ? And where the heck do you get it from

          well its from a mushroom farm (old horse muck) and its main use is to bulk up soil or use as a mulch , down side it can contain a lot of lime that has been added so be careful how you use it

            Is mushroom compost not very rich in nitrogen?

            I would be careful when growing cacti in it. May cause too much soft growth that will be prone to rot.

            I think those 'lumps' are flower buds forming,:) why is it called an 'oucho' :scratch:

              Because it was in the greenhouse and it was raining :biggrin:

              I put some broken pots in the bottom, good idea to use grit, will do that next time :thumbsup:
