Have decided to replace a couple of shrubs with some Rhodedenrons as they florish here in Dorset what I would really appreciate is some advice from those of you who grow them. What I have a fancy for is white or cream possibly a lemon, far removed from the wild species as possible so pink is out, purfumed if possible, upright (not straggely)about max , 5-6 foot any advice on where to purchase /what size.
oh preferably one early and one later not to flower at once.
    Thankyou folks in advance. Rosietu.

Most garden centres have new stock of these arriving about now so you should get plenty of choice if they've had their autumn delivery.

If you want scent you need to go for the deciduous type. The yellow ones seem to have the strongest fragrance.:gnthb:

You may like Knapphill 'Persil' flowers in mid-may and is white and scented. Not a big Rhodo grows to about 4' Can easily be grown in a large pot too.

Well I took a good look around the internet and settled for a specialist nursery "Heaselands" in Sussex ordered two which arrived today they surpassed my expectations they were large, pot grown in 3 ltr pots
I know you take a chance on internet sites but certainly struck lucky again this time.
I purchased some Clematis from an online specialist Taylors, from oop north a few years back and again was well pleased by the quality they are in thier 3rd year and have been spectacular. Shall hope to post some fantastic pictures in a few years (if im still here !) Shall be 80 in January...of my Rhododendrons.
