I have a Rhodedendron which appears very healthy (in my basic knowledge anyway!!) I have had it for about 3 years now and at this time of the year it produces lots of buds but they never turn into flowers. Would someone be able to advise why. It is kept in a sunny, sheltered position in a container. [IMG]

Hi Mrs T (great name BTW - you need a Mr T in a wig avatar now!)

If the rhodie is in the right kind of soil, and it looks otherwise healthy it could be just a bit too young?

    There's a good article here:

    http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profiles0301/nonflowering_rhododendrons.asp

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Dave

(PS - dendy, yes, I'm helping more rhodies to spread into the world - evil laugh!)
