Hi, Here is a bsic question from a basic gardener!
My small Rhodidendrum has flowered a couple of weeks ago and is now looking rather sad.
The flowers have died off and left withered brown petals.
    Question :- Now What!!!!!?????
    Many Thanks
    Andy

    Hi and Welcome!

Rhodes are evergreen so you should always have the dark gren foliage which you can use as a backdrop for brightly coloured flowers. Don't be tempted to dead head them though. Next year's flower buds will already be forming under the mass of brown petals and if damaged or removed it won't flower so let the old petals fall off naturally.

There are mixed feelings about whether they are weeds. In some parts of the country the common purple one has reached epidemic proportions and is severely displacing our native woodlands and volunteer groups do eradication meets and events. Some of the specie are gorgeous though and aren't invasive.
