Rhubarb dieing down

    I have 2 rhubarb plants one has died down full over past few weeks the other beside it hasn't, is this normal our is it dead ?

      • Yes, it dies back then regrows when spring arrives. You can encourage it by giving the crown a good dollop of well-rotted manure or some garden compost enriched with pelleted manure but do this on or after a rainy day and not when there has just been a frost. other causes it dies .Overwatering.Poor soil aeration .Too much heat. Iron deficiency.Pests and diseases
      I havent personally grown it but my nieghbour used to quite alot

      It's quite normal for them to do that. When the leaves have all died back you can mulch around the plants but don't cover the crown.

      Although rhubarb leaves are poisonous to eat they are OK for putting on the compost heap.
