My rhubarb is going great guns though only plonked it in the ground to fill a bit of space and nice foliage in a damp shady bit of the garden. I have some questions as a new rhubarb grower.

Some stalks are red some green regardless of size. Are they both nice to eat?

    Can you compost the leaves?

    cheers

Both colours of stalks should be OK to eat.

The leaves are poisonous to eat but I am pretty sure that they are alright to compost. I always put them on the compost heap and have done so for over 40 years with no apparent bad effect.:)

Thanks for replies. Glad you said the green stalks were ok as I'd given most of the first crop to cheer up a neighbour who was a bit miserable about something.
