      Timperly Early
      Because it's early and a good do-er.

If you have space I'd try two varieties, an early and a later. This will extend the harvest if you really like rhubarb. Timperley early isn't one I've tried but I do know it's popular for a reason. Our early, for forcing, is champagne, and the one that goes on until late summer/early autumn, is glaskins perpetual (it doesn't have the oxalic acid which other cultivars do, so you can pick it all season). There are plenty of cultivars to choose from though, so see what is available locally. I quite fancy fultons strawberry myself.

            Hi all,

I have ordered Stockbridge Arrow , it’s a modern variety .. plus the crowns are huge. And it’s one of the favourites with the rhubarb growers in Yorkshire

            appreciate your help

That's a good one that i first had, it grows thick stalks and i freeze some after cooking it with some honey in a roasting tray in the oven, cover the tray when cooking, the honey is better than sugar.
              Your welcome :)

I have Fulton's Strawberry Surprise and I like it very much.
The main drawback is that it's not ready to start picking until late April.
The stems have a lovely red tinge inside and out.
It's not as tart as Timperley Early and has a sweeter aroma than TE.
