I planted in the spring & I've got a well established plant now. Not picking from it this year though, let it build up a bit of strength first.

If you know anyone with a good, well established plant, they will likely give you a crown or two.

Im after a nice "early" rhubarb too, Sadly I know of no one in the area who grows it so it will have to be an online purchase of a crown I think.
Can anyone suggest a variety to look out for ?

I've had lots of plants off Ebay this year and been very pleased with them. They included a gooseberry bush and 2 raspberry canes which are doing very well. I did a quick look and there's lots of rhubarb plants there for a good price all the way from plug plants to established ones, 3 for £3.90.

The cat has never forgiven me for digging up our rhubarb since from beneath it's leaves she could remain cool whilst making sure we behaved. The family have not forgiven me for digging up our rhubarb since after years of saying 'I don't like rhubarb Mum', now that they've got homes of their own (but tiny gardens), they've suddenly decided they do like it after all!

Thus, I too need to buy/replace but I'm happy with early or maincrop.
