    Hi,

    I have a ribes shrub which was planted about 3years ago.
    Its grow n to about 6 feet tall and flowered lovely this spring.
    some of the canes have wilted this last few weeks, other canes look really healthy.
    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi Andeks, apart from extremes of waterlogging or drought, they're pretty trouble-free shrubs. The only things to watch out for are powdery mildew and leaf-spot. It's recommended to prune out some of the older wood every year to encourage new growth, as well as removing any dead or diseased stems. Here's a link which might shed some light :) Ribes

    @Andeks
    Not sure where you are in the country, but given the recent warm dry weather a lot of plants are wilting by the end of the day and then picking up by the next morning.
    Sometimes even if well watered plants will wilt as the collapsed leaves lose less water, reducing the need for plants to move water up the plant; they then catch up overnight.

    Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.
    When i said wilting they are actually dying now. becoming brown and dry.
    seems to be moving from cane to cane.
    I have been watering ( not too much ) to try and help.
