Rice

    hi all,

    Probably a crazy question but....

    has anyone tried to grow rice in the UK?

    I don`t think it`s that daft a question, Kerry. I don`t know the answer, but did you know. The biggest producer of rice is not China but the USA?

    Never would have guessed Dai! just come back from the Philippines and there's a lot of rice fields over there.... but I think they just eat it rather than export it.

    Hmmm, if they can grow it in the USA then maybe it will work over here.... might give it a try in a container in the yard.....

    The USA grows more rice than any other country. Also, did you know, that China grows more COTTON than any other country?

    The cotton thing doesn't surprise me, considering the amount of clothing they export.

    seem to remember trying to grow rice when I was a kid.

    Cant remember the outcome though.:scratch:

    I dont think its frost hardy.
