RIP Carlsberg Special Brew

The end of an era !

 

We have the Carlsberg factory here in Northampton.

 

The PC brigade have gone mad yet again.
So now you just buy two cans of 4.8% instead.
Which only a few months ago was 5%.

Are they taking the mick putting up a photo of two cans and typing 'share' underneath?

It's a very strong beer at 9%. But you can taste the alcohol in it . Never drunk it since I was 19, otherwise I would be the man in the photo above, and Molly would have a piece of rope for a lead !

 

Bearing in mind 9% is lower than quite a lot of wine, I cant see how there can be complaints.

I've come across people that dont share a bottle of wine.

 

Yes, the last time I drank it was when Mrs Scrungee was at Oxford Uni, and at a party (1989?) we were drinking Carlsberg Special Brews with Champagne tops.

 

I only drank Special Brew once (never again). Hadn't a clue what I was drinking, just thought it was normal lager.I don't remember much until I woke up the next morning. I was informed I'd been fine until tucking into my 5th can at which point I gently sank to the ground and was out cold!
