How tragic that we have lost another great person. There seems to be a lot of it just lately. We heard it while Mr Kandy was watching the Grand Prix this afternoon. :(

When we used to do Marshalling at the Lombard RAC Rallies we used to enjoy watching the Audi Quattros racing round the stages. Our hero was Hanu Mikkola etc,and when the stages were finished we used to go round pulling up all the direction arrows ready for the next stage.

    RIP :(

    From myself, hubby and son:

Tragic news, his wife and remaining family will need all the support they can get as will the family of the others who died in this awful accident. Our hearts go out to them

Terrible news one can only imagine the horror they must have gone through as the helicopter crashed to the ground.

At least his little boy Johnny had the comfort of having his dad with him in his last moments although I'm sure Colin would have wished his child was safely at home with his mother Alison and his sister Hollie.

My heart goes out to all his friends and family may they in time have the strength to remember them not with sadness but with a smile.

It's a horrible thing to have happened, whoever the people involved. Colin McRae's fame won't have helped him or his family at all - they're just the same as every other human in the face of disaster - completely vulnerable and mortal. I feel sorry for his wife and father most at the moment - they are the ones who will feel the loss the most, and be most aware of the media attention.

For my family, we're most aware of the McRaes as ordinary people as they lived in the same small street in Lanark as my in-laws when Colin and his brothers were teenagers, rushing around at rallyspeed in their cars on the back streets - normal teenagers who loved speed.

I hope the media will give them space to mourn privately, and let them literally Rest In Peace.

Had other things on the last few weeks, just nipped on and found this tread, The man was a huge hero of mine, for about 6 years on the trot in the late 80s early 90s a friend and me did the Lombard RAC every year. Colin was a legend always driving on the edge. We would be in the middle of a Welsh forest hundreds of people lining the stage and Colin would come through and the whole crowd would cheer. A legend. RIP Colin.

ESB ones mmmm, no comment. Mark did these ones in a small batch for the Lodge. Tiny has some more coming, I would try and PM him to reserve a couple. I aksed if he is doing some new RB ones in the same style. Just waiting to see how they come out apparently. I think the CM ones are the best tribute ones around ATM. Well impressed that all of the £2.50 they cost is going to chair-ittyyy.

They are external for paint or glass, would look good on your bufty black, but not so on crystal grey. Went for the outside window, shows up nice with the tints ;)
