    Not one you are likely to see in an average garden, they occur on the dog rose and are caused by larvae of the gall wasp, Diplolepis rosae, which live in the gall.

    Good piccie - I got in on my dog roses -which are grown as part of a hawthorn hedge. I quite liked them, having identified what they were - cos they threw me at first. I mean who expects a 'flower'from a gall :D

    I agree - how did you do that Frogescue. Whilst I am happy to share pictures, I would object to people passing them off as theirs, or indeed using them in money making things without my consent. Marking them - twould seem to be an answer.

    Thanks for the comments;

    Text can be added to pics in most image editing software but I'll do a thread in 'Non-Gardening' tomorrow. I'll also include a bit about watermarking and adding Trademark ââ??¢, Copyright Ã?© and Registered Trademark Ã?® symbols etc.

    agreed - there are times when I'd like to make it clear about ownership, although others are just snaps...
