We were hosts to a rock band (Howie G and the P.L.O.T.) this weekend - don't ask how - and we had a lot of fun. Despite there being a wide age gap and culture gap we all got on well and enjoyed the jamming and concert. We aren't up to the late nights and booze like the young ones, but we gave it our best shot and managed to keep up - most of the time [IMG] . Here are some pics for all you rockers out there ........

This is the band on stage

    This is Howie

This is Howie improvising when he lost his slider.

Here's Dominic (who remembered me from last year apparently which is worrying!!) and his friend who's name I forget...

The previous night we all got together for a jamming session - I was relagated to percussion and warned not to sing

Please excuse poor picture quality - had camera on wrong setting and was extrememly intoxicated [IMG]

    More to follow...

Dominic shows his versatility (he's from a different band) ...

Mr Tchang (different band) could really sing - wish you had soundavision...

The lovely Patric - wish I was 40 years younger!!

I don't know what this one was on but I knew I didn't want any of it......... [IMG]

Here's Howie having a moment. I must admit I did tend to mother him a bit as he seemed very vunerable and to be honest, he said he rather liked me being mum for the weekend (his own mother died when he was just 1 year old).

They were all extremely lovely people and we have a nice collection of rock CD's now to add to our rather stuffy collection. It was a chance to strip off the years for a couple of days. :D

Wonderful pics, kryssy. It looks like a good time was had by all. I can see why you had to "mother" Howie. [IMG] I also had to read you last sentence twice.

Thank you for sharing your weekend with us. [IMG]

Yes, we had a great time and I've been playing the CDs since (cannot understand the words of course).

If you want to have a listen just click HERE and enjoy.

I simply must get some leather pants :D

Thanks for that, kryssy. They definitely have that sound. T'other half still has many albums (yes, he just put them in their new cabinet yesterday, in fact, ready for putting on MP3s and then selling) by most of those mentioned as influencing them.

Got the leather pants and waistcoat ... just too hot for them here! :D :D

Thanks for the pics Kryssy - lucky you. I would have loved to be there as I just love rock and guitars etc etc. Never get enough watching and listening.

I already have tickets for 3 separate shows to see Georgie Fame, Paul Jones (Manfreds) and Marmalade ('Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da' Reflections Of My Life' 'Summer In The City').
When are you going to see your friends again Kyssy?

    Hey Kryssy,

When is the next party so we can all start making our travel plans? Loads of us Scot's now, maybe we can chip in and charter a jet to arrive in true rock 'n' role style!

    TO :D

Well you are all better off than us really as Howie is playing in UK most of the time - just check out his website as previously posted. Hopefully they will be back here next year by which time I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

As an aside - I watched X Factory this evening and realised that the best time to go out at night is when X Factory is auditioning. Obviously all the crazy people are off the streets then and trying to convince Simon and Co. that they will be the next sensation to hit the nation. [IMG]
