I have grown rocket in one part of my raised bed and I was wondering if i just leave it will it come back next year after self seeding and be a regular thing in that bit of the raised bed.

I have a feeling the answer is no but i'm kind of hoping there will be a chance of a yes :fingers crossed:

    Hello Dips,

Yes it will. You can leave the seed pods to self seed and pick a few for free seeds. We have grown rocket in a cleaned and sterilized paint tubs for a while about 2 years and it was only last year we lost it due to the terrential weather.
Here is a website that will tell you more ;)

As bexy says, rocket self seeds very easily. However if you leave it just to self seed then you'll get it all at the same time and as mentioned in that quote you really need to keep sowing to get a continuous crop as it bolts very quickly. So you'll need to collect some seeds and sow them yourself periodically.

Alternatively you could try perennial rocket. This tastes the same and also self seeds easily but also keeps on producing and comes back the following year:dbgrtmb:. We've got a few around our garden including a large clump which self seeded in a corner of the greenhouse and has been happily producing from early spring to late autumn for at least three years now.
