Wildflower, this is probably in your arena of lotions and potions. We've just started drinking Rooibos orange tea at night before bed and I read that it cures insomnia, amongst other things. Must admit I've been sleeping like a log but wake up a bit headachy. I had had two good nights' sleep before I decided to check up on his properties. Any comments?

Well i am not really into foreign herbs but it is in the rhs herb book so here goes..

properties..an aromatic pleasant tasting mildly astringent herb that benefits the digestion and relaxes spasms..it relieves some allergic sympyoms and skin conditions..

medicinal uses...internally for allergies especially eczema..hay fever..and asthma in infants externally for skin infections and irritations...

well thats it and its come from my rhs new encyclopedia of herbs..it doesnt say anything about insomnia at all.. it is also used to make liquer with .probably just as a flavouring..i have never personally heard about it not even sure if you can buy it in the uk..allthough as its african probably some african shops may sell it..cant you buy valerian their? as thats good for insommnia..

Thanks, Wildflower. I haven't seen valerian here. I'm buying the Rooibos at Lidl. I got my info off the net and if I remember right (hmmm, is it good for memory lapses? :D ) it did mention the digestion, allergy and skin conditions as well. Supposedly kids drink it cold there instead of pop! Interesting, thanks again. [IMG]
