Well the final third of my rosemary is on its way out so I was going to dig it up today. Top wise the dead leaves are brown and brittle but still attatched, the remaining "green" leaves are drying out and going brown and the tips are bent over and "clumped" together. Is there anything I should look for on the roots that might indicate infection?

Hmm I think it may be more than that. i haven't seen any beetles and the whole plant is affected.

Well dug it up and i can see no obvious signs of pests. The roots are all quite black (not sure if that is normal)and not really expanded much beyond the rootball (it was planted out from a container about a year ago). There is quite a lot of them so they haven't rotted or anything.

Sorry then. I'm baffled. I had a rosemary once (still do-love it) that did the same thing Then I found a neighbour using a very powerful agricultural (not exactly horticultural) weed killer. It drifted my way and bye bye rosemary. Doubt if it's that though. If you want a cutting give me a shout in August :D

    Me too.
Thanks for the offer but I took a cutting from some of the healthy shoots before they too pegged it. That's doing fine so far.

I understand you can eat the little blue flowers - presumably, one you've washed 'em! Scatter them in your salads. I haven't tried it myself yet, but my rosemary's in flower too.
