Hi, we have lost 2 roses recently and my o/h seems to think it may have something to do with an increase in the number of foxgloves which are self setting near them.
Before I go and plant £11 worth of hybrid perpetual in the area has anybody heard of any conflict between roses and foxgloves? There are also penstemon, aquilegia and phlox nearby.
I intend replacing a fair bit of the surrounding soil to try and offset the tendency of roses to not thrive where roses have previously been planted.
(my o/h does not particularly like foxgloves!!)

I've never heard of a problem with these plants being near each other, Mike - think it's just that your o/h wants rid of the foxgloves! ;)
