roses

    Can anyone help,i have a dog called max who is getting old & i have been thinking about getting a rose to put in the garden when he goes to doggy heaven.I have been looking for one but can't find one any ideas?

    Hi Saraj, Have a look at the Peter beales rose site. They have a very good search facility there. My daughter recently planted 'Remember Me' in memory of her dad, it is a lovely colour, and smells too. Hope you don't need it too soon, though....

    Sorry to hear about Max saraj. :(

    An old favorite available as either a hybrid 'T' or climber is 'Peace'. Delghtfull damusk fragrance, has a yellow flower suffused with peachy-pink.

    If it were me, I'd choose a colour, decide what sort of rose I wanted,(climber, rambler, bush, patio, etc), whether I wanted a scent or not, then google roses, and check all the sites to see what suited me best! There are so many roses, you can't possibly know them all!! The Peter Beales site is good, but there's also Pocock's and lots more of the specialists. (Or there's always RNRS if you're stuck, to ring or e-mail for advice, in Chiswell Green) Google really works!!
