Has anyone got any experience with the 'David Austin' roses. I am looking to purchase 3/4 plants and really keen to make sure of their performance as they claim great things like 'repeat flowering' and 'heavenly scent' etc.

The price of these is quite high so I would like to know if I'm doing the right thing........

Chobart, they are top quality roses, but you are basically paying for the name, David Austin. Look around your local garden centres, they will have the same varieties but at much better prices. [IMG]

Ive always found David Austin roses to be very healthy and too an excelent standard, as sutch for roses they are my first choice.

As for prices IMO you get what you pay for, and usually its my customers money not mine!

I am a first time rose grower and I bought three David Austin Roses, they are doing very well. I am lucky enough to live quite near to his garden centre, it's lovely to see them growing in situ and gives a good idea how they will eventually look.

    Go for it :D

Thanks for the advice - I have had a look round since I posted this one and found that the dearest (£12.99) at Hilliers who have a wide selection with the cheapest (£6.99) at the local price cutters who only have 3/4 varieties - now need to check the names out.
