Hi everyone, it's been a while but I just had to tell this wonderful story.
A friend of ours took his Dog Rosie the Jack Russell to the park ,as he did everyday.
The park is Sutton Park a very big nature reserve.
    This was last Wednesday.
It was very cold and he had his gloves on.
Rosie bolted after a rabbit or squirrel and due to the gloves she got away with her lead on.
Into the woods she went with him running after her.
    Then nothing.
He searched for 4 hours until the light went.
    No Rosie.
Heart broken he went home .
The next day at day break again he searched for hours .
Everyday he and friends and family were there.
Asking other dog walkers if they had seen her.
He posted her pictures on all the gates with his number.
    Still nothing.
By Sunday after a very cold night he was beside himself with worry.
The police didn't want to no.
He told the dogs home RSPCA everyone he could think of.
Again Monday Tuesday he searched in tears.
Now looking for a body .
Wednesday again after another very cold night off he went.
At the crack of dawn .
    Searching calling listening.
    Then he heard a sound.
    A whimper
He pushed further into the trees and bushes but couldn't see anything .
He searched the area for over an hour.
Then he saw her, her lead wrapped round a bush half hidden in the undergrowth.
    She was still alive. Just.
Luckily she was still wearing her coat which he believed saved her.
He crawled in and got her free.
Cold hungry and barely alive he carried her home with tears running down his face.
Although she is thin and still a bit afraid she is doing well.
She spent 7 nights in the freezing cold ,trapped without food or water.
    Rosie the wonder Dog.
    Bless her
Our friend said it's the best Christmas present he could of got.
To get his beloved Rosie back.

    I forgot to say.
This is Rosie's second escape from death.
When she was a few months old her first owners wanted to put her to sleep as they couldn't control her.
    The vet refused.
The nurse at the vets took her and passed her on to our friend who she knew wanted a little Dog.
    That was 4 years ago.

A happy ending to what could have been a tragic outcome.

But surely now's the time to take it to some obedience classes, for the dog's sake?
