    dave,

I hired a rotorvator about 3 weeks ago.

A cultivator is used if your soil is 'cultivated' every year, as it is only a machine for lighter use, usually engine size is up to 6- 6 1/2 HP.

A rotorvator is used when the ground has not been dug over for years and is hard going, engine size is between 7- 12 hp.

If you have a 'Mark 1 hire' shop near you, they are usually very helpful.

    Nathan.

Usually hire shops use Petrol engine rotorvators..... And usually a Honda engine, as they are very reliable.
