Be warned. I happened to check my junk folder just now, and saw an email in there claiming to be from Royal Mail, telling me that my package was available for pickup.

Ok, a few things that rouse suspicion.

    1. I do shop online quite a lot, but I always remember what I've ordered, what I've received, and what I'm still waiting for. I knew that nothing is outstanding.

    2. I've never given Royal Mail my email address.

    3. the email wasn't even from a Royal Mail domain (some random email, 'on behalf of Royal Mail', yeah right).

    4. If Royal Mail fail to deliver anything, they post a card through the door.

The email asks you to download the attached invoice. Naturally i didn't becauseyou can bet it would result in me spending the next many hours trying to get my computer working properly again.

Royal Mail know about this scam:

    You have been warned.

Its been said time and time again to never open email attachments, unless you trust the sender. You would think pretty much everyone would know that. But I guess so many still do open these attachments, or they would not send them out anymore.

Cheers for the heads up though Clueless!

    Steve...:)

Other versions claim to be from Parcel Force, UPS, etc.

I keep getting those emails from Paypal. I'm not sure whether I should check my account . I don't think I'll bother - as I haven't got one! :heehee:

We never have packages to pick up from the post office as, if we are out, the postman always signs for us and puts the package in the 'usual' place.
When Oscar was still with us the 'usual' place was by his house in the propagator in the greenhouse. He guarded all packages and I wouldn't want to be the person who tried to take them from him :hate-shocked:. The postman just used to put a card through the door with a sketch of a cat :snork:. He and Oscar were good friends :cat-kittyandsmiley:
