Is anyone willing to give up an hour this weekend to watch birds in the garden? It's a hard job, but someone has to do it.

    For more details look here.

Me to - the results of last year were interesting, I wonder what this colder winter will show.

This is ridiculous. An hour and the only bird to land in the garden was one magpie. I think they're trying to wind me up and were all hiding next door.

Aaaww, bad luck Rich. I did mine yesterday and 20 was my total at one time. But my day has been made today....3 goldfinches have returned, the first I have seen in the garden this winter. Lovely calm sunny day up here, but a wee bit chilly.

When I drive down the road that leads to my dads place, I have had a Green Woodpecker fly in front of my car 2-3 times in the last 2 weeks.

I was there Friday, and perched on an old log were 3 Robins (which he leaves feed down for).

Sent mine in this afternoon. At one time a flock of starlings approx 70 flew round and landed on the roof - don't think we counted them twice, but the survey queried it as it was an unusually high number. We also had a heron fly over - which was quite unusual - but couldn't count that because it didn't land. Was quite an interesting hour. [IMG]
