P1060094.JPG Did an inner one and a half mile circuit of this pretty little deciduous wood today. A nicely open wood with plenty of light and typical woodland birdsong. Had the place to ourselves apart from a male pheasant that we must have startled. It flew up in front of me and scared me out of my wits. And a snake sunning itself but slithered away before I could get my camera on him. Buzzards above, sheep in the field that runs alongside and an occasional train as Crowhurst station is nearby.
A "casually" managed RSPB site with lots of decaying trees that have come down in various storms over the years. Wish we'd have come about a month ago, the bluebells and primroses must have been worth a look.
    Some lovely stumps:

What a charming place, Jenny. Glad you shared it with us :blue thumb:
Like the one they make the pop out of, as in Dandelion and Burdock?

Yep, it's made from the root, grows about 1 metre long as thick as your wrist :)
