    Here's an extract from the Amateur Gardening regarding the survey:

    "An estimated half a million people took part in the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch from 28-29 January. After two bitter Winters, experts are keen to find out what effects this year's warm weather has had on feathered friends. An RSPB spokesman said "With plenty of natural food still about, some of the usual suspects might be a bit elusive".

    I must admit that I haven't had to refill the bird feeders as much as I did last Winter. I've been putting out apple halves on the lawn but it's only just recently that the Blackbirds have been using them.
