Here's a couple more pics of Joyce. Sorry about the size, I seem to go either too big or too small:confused:. She does not like having her photo taken, don't know why.

Oh Marley, I missed some from here as well as my container post:o Anyway, will post the other couple I missed below. She is around 13 years old, we got her as a rescue in August 1996 and they thought she was between 6 mths to a year old then. She's our baby:o:D. Has taken this year to jumping in the crocosmia at the side of the house - I don't know if she thinks she can hide in there:rolleyes::D. I don't mind cos she can only play for about 2 minutes literally now before she's puffed out (know the feeling;))

    Thanks for your words.

:thumb: She really is a smasher borrowers.. All my dogs have been rescue dogs.. You take a chance, but I have never been disappointed yet.! :thumb: She looks very perky, collies are fun to have & so devoted.!:D

:thumb: I have had some dogs that have taken a few years very hard work, but all have turned out to be fabulous dogs in their own way..! :thumb: We had a couple of collies too. Wonderful dogs to train. Won a few Obedience cups with one even.!:thumb::D

Thank you walnut & MF, she is a smasher. Soft as clarts but wiley with it! I don't know if she could have won medals marley, probably cos she still learns things even now. I try to keep her 'interested' if you know what I mean. I even did a little bit of 'Crufts' with her, doing the fetch and staying by your side when she was younger & she still remembers it. If only she would do that on the lead!!:) We love her to bits.

Walnut, I must say that last photo is the best ever I think. Pity I didn't have a digi camera (PC etc) when she was younger. I've saved that as my wallpaper - big baby aren't I?

She looks happy borrowers, thats the main thing.
My dog also hates her picture taken, (collie) so you have to take quick ones when they are not looking.
I've also known a dog that activley "posed" when ever they saw a camera, but that was a retriever.:D

:DYeah I know what you mean Pete, is yours a true border? Mine obviously is a cross, with what we don't know but looks abit like Alsation colouring doesn't she?

Retrievers, labradors etc seem to take lovely photos don't they. They're always good 'calandar' pics:thumb: My dog as a kid was a black poodle and in those days the cameras weren't digital so half the time all you seemed to get was a black blob:eek:

    Love 'em all though.

    cheers

Sandra Joyce is looking fantastic for her age and I love the way she poses for the photos like she loves it and wants to leave her mum with many happy memories when she does eventually go.Looking at her I think she has a few more good years inside of her yet:thumb:

Your Joyce has the brindling colouring that our Tina used to have and she was a Collie x Terrier. She loved posing for photos just like Joyce does.Tina would also lay in all my plants usually to find a bit of shade and comfort:rolleyes::D

May you both have many more happy years together and Thanks for sharing your photos with us:thumb::)

Thank you Kandy, I do hope she's with us for a good few years yet. She does show her age now although I'm sure in her head she still thinks she's a pup:D I was a bit concerned a while ago about her and posted some concerns but whether it was just a blip, the weather, whatever I don't know but she's perked up now.

She does alot of sleeping and not too much running but is managing the stairs & car ok now. I wish I knew what she actually was (breed) but apart from the collie we don't know - could be a mongrel. Her light colouring and the feathery bits look like an alsations colouring but who knows? She has the nicest temperament. She is laying by my side as I type this - with a sausage close by:eek: I gave her it earlier & she kept it in her mouth, didn't go outside to eat it and waited until we came up here! Maybe if I cut it up she would eat it - we always cut her food up, she really doesn't eat like a normal dog:D I love peanuts and whenever I have a pack I give her a couple of halves (I know they're not good for her but she doesn't have them often) and she's the only dog I know who will chew a little half a peanut!

Well, I went on there didn't I:rolleyes: Sorry.

Come on everyone, lets have some more pics & stories on here.

    cheers

Sandra, don't worry about going on I do it all the time when I forget myself:D If you look at the dog in my Avata then that is Tina with her big pointed ears and Collie white blaze on the front of her chest. She was very intelligent just like collies are but was very stubbon just like terriers can be:D

Our Tina got slower and slower in her walking and when she developed Cushions?{spelling} went down quiet quickly in the last two years of her life.Considreing she was naerly 15 and was going to be put to sleep by her previous owners I don't think she did too badly.:)

You just have to take each day as it comes and enjoy the time you have left with Joyce. Her diet will probably have to change as her insides start to wear out but just paly it by ear and see how she goes.As long as she is enjoying treats and a quality of life she will go on for a few more years yet.Enjoy her....:thumb:

Hi Kandy & Woo, I will enjoy her & her us for as long as possible. 15 is a very good age Kandy. What is 'Cushions'?

Woo, I know about Mrs Woos' name, I've noticed before and here's a secret for you both - my middle name is Joyce (after my dad's sister who died from TB at 21, well before I was born) and Ray (my hubby) got her for a wedding present for me and named her because of my name. How sweet is that.

When we moved here with Joyce we had Trudy next door ( a little sort of terrier type dog) & Molly, a biggish dog next to them. It was strange as Joyce is a weird name for a dog & then suddenly we were with 2 others named with womans names, lol. Molly & Joyce did not get on for some reason. They actually came to blows one day when both got out of the front doors. The owner of Molly pulled Molly off but Joyce fought back!! Some boys that lived here saw it & were so suprised at Joyce cos she's so soft - I think everyone in the street knows her & when she has escaped(!) have brought her back, little monkey she is, lol - they said to me 'blimey, look at Joyce'. I was just panicking of course. Anyway, no real damage but I was upset, probably more than Joyce. She was attacked when young by a border collie & that was horrible. I sort of thought it couldn't happen cos she's always been nice but there you go.... she's still got the lovely nature although she can't be doing with alot of fuss from younger dogs at the moment:)

So all in all Joyce is a lovely name and of course means a lovely nature - just ask my husband:) or Woo!

    cheers
