Planted runner beans for the first time and something appears to be eating the leaves?
I have plenty of slug pellets around the plant and also used liquid derris bug killer, but the munching goes on.
    Any ideas please?

Found out the villain..it's earwigs everywhere.
Is there anything I can use to get rid of them?

Are they eating the higher leaves too? I find Runners normally outgrow whatever eats the lower leaves.

Agree with Kristen, don't worry as the lower leaves aren't important.

Just a suggestion re slugs. I'd be inclined to put the pellets on the ground around the bottom of the pots and not in the pots. You don't really want to encourage them to climb up the pots. Let them munch on the pellets on the ground and they won't last long enough to climb!

Of course, if they're already in the pot that method won't work.
