Runner bean plants in compost

    Hi, now some of my vegetables are at an end and i am tidying up the garden, i have avoided putting potato plants in the compost as last year they sprouted again. What about runner beans as long as i can see no sign of any beans would it be ok to put them in the compost.

    We've always consigned ours to the heap Sharon. They'll rot down a bit faster if you pile then on the ground and chop with a spade before you put them on.
    Chop off the plants at ground level and leave the roots in the ground as they contain nitrogen.
