    Evening all.

I think my runner beans are lazy. I've given them things to climb, but they have made no effort to do so. One is happily stood next to a suitably placed bamboo cane, happily gaining height next to it, but it wont climb it. I've even tried hooking them on by a leaf, but they just wiggle loose and continue to ignore the sticks/ropes/nets.

I presume they do normally just find their way do they? I've never grown them before, and had assumed they were a bit like peas, where they'll just grab onto anything.

They do find their own way Clueless but don't make the mistake i made....thought i'd give one of mine a helping hand to gently wrap it round the cane....i snapped it:doh:i remembered after the fact (i'm sure it was advice from Shiney) that runner beans wind themselves round Anti-clockwise:dbgrtmb:

Slightly off subject. My Ipomoea are winding anti-clockwise too, so does this mean all twining plants go the same way? Wonder what they do in Australia? :heehee:

Clueless, mine did the same for a few weeks, just flopping about in a disinterested manner, but now have started to cling to life, somewhat limply but nevertheless a bit of winding going on.
