Hi, We built a new house at the bottom of an agricultural field. The ground around it is very heavy. We cleared the piles of clay, soil etc and I sowed the area out in grass. Unfortunately now I have a lot of rushes. Has anyone any idea how to remove them. There are too many to dig out.

    Many thanks

    David

Welcome to Gardeners Corner David. :) The area sounds like it was a bog at some point for these to grow.

Is it possible for you to provide us with photo's please to identify the plants. We can then make suggestions on how best to go about removal.

just mow them every week they will soon disappear , but by the sounds of it really bad drainage. Bog garden would be ideal have you thought of that, lots of plants would love it
