Some of my leaves are showing signs of a nasty... Is this rust or something else, and how do I get rid of it?

This shows how close the plants are, I'm looking at the leafy one with pink flowers (have no idea of name!) to the right of the pic and the grape vine on the left...

Rust is usually orange pustules on the surface of the leaves so I think your plants are showing a deficiency of some kind. I reckon it could be magnesium so Epsom Salts would be the answer.

Or it might be a potassium deficiency....

Let's see what the others think.
