I have a rosa madame isaac perier. The scent is wonderful but each year it falls foul of rust. I spray but nothing seems to work and by this time in the seasion it looks dreadful. I have a friend who has suggested replacing it with a rose from David Austin. She says the scent on a lot of his roses are great and the plants are not suseptable to disease. Anyone got any thoughts on this. [IMG]

Some Roses maybee resitant to blackspot but All are suseptable.

To avoid blackspot and to an extent rust you need to spray fortnightly from bud break. I use a combination of sulphur (from green acres) and a profeshional fungicide (Nimrod T). Top rose and similar will work fine if you spray regularly, this is the key along with removing fallen leaves.

not bought any for a while ( 2 litres at a dilution of 25ml to 5 litres goes a long way!)
