    Hi All, Me again,

I assume the problem shown below(Hollyhocks) is rust.

Can anyone confirm this and advise what, if anything, can be done to minimise/stop it ?

    Thanks,

    Yes.

A combination of spraying from early on with a fungicide (I use systhane but not sure if this is still available). Also take of any contaminated leaves.

I have Marsh Mallow (Althaea officionalis) which doesn't seem to get rust But frankly it is too insignificant as a garden flower - it's got to go.

I am currently growing some ordinary Hollyhocks for the first time, and I have no doubt they will get rust as does my Malva Sylvestris. Are there any Hollyhocks that don't get it or are at last less susceptible?

They always seem to go rusty, I tend to use Foxgloves instead.
