    Might be possible to attempt if you have access to trailer loads of organic matter, or are prepared to turn 90% or so of your ground over to producing mulch material for the remaining 10%, plus put up with the material becoming infested with voles, slugs, woodlice, moulds, etc. and birds tearing it up together with your plants (or smothering them) whilst searching for food.
