salad hanging basket

    while lying in hospital having my kneese operated on i was reading my readers digest garden book and saw this idea.tumbling tom tomatoes,lettuce.chives and any of you favourite herbs.does anyone know where i can get tumbling tom ?,i think it would make a great basket for outside your kitchen door kathy

    i may be to late now for seeds or am i?
    is it to late for window sill

    [​IMG] Hi Kathy3 most garden centres sell Tumbling toms,they are very popular and they grow quite quickly,so no its not to late even for seed but plants would be better..

    Maybe, normally it`s march-april to sow under glass but you could still try.For quick germination-;sow 2 seeds per plastic cup filled with damp soil(with holes burnt out of the bottom)put cups into some kind of container,pour a little water into container then cover with black bin liner.Put them on a windowsill above a radiator.Check after 2-3 days,don`t forget,and when they are through remove bin liner or they`ll go leggy.Remove one seedling and your off.
