I was wondering if it would be OK to use the old mucky silver sand from the children's sandpit to mix in with soil/compost for top dressing my lawn. Usually I buy some river sand but it would be a shame to waste the sandpit sand if it has some use.

What a coincidence..Yesterday I emptied out the old sand from our sand pit...washed it and then mixed it with my general purpose compost. So I would have to say ..yes!...Waste not ..etc: [IMG]

If it makes decent sandcastles then no, if not then yes!

Thanks Paladin and Palustris, I've mixed it with my compost.
