Sardine Pate

    Serves 6.

    3 tins Sardines (drained)
    125g Butter (softened)
    1 teaspoon ground mixed peppers
    1/2 teaspoon piri-piri or other chilli powder
    Juice of 1 or 2 Lemons
    Lettuce Leaves, Lemon Wedges and Cherry Tomatoes
    Bread of Choice

    Add sardines to butter and blend well. Add spices and blend more. Add lemon juice and whip till smooth. Chill before serving.

    I lay lettuce leaves out on a plate, put the pate in the centre and decorate with lemon wedges and cherry tomatoes, halved.
